Tour number 2 of the 2014 AMSOIL/Street Rodder Road Tour began at the 50th L.A. Roadster's Father's Day Show in Pomona and the destination for the week is the Minnesota Street Rod Association's Back to the 50's Weekend in St. Paul. The drive is going to be a long one with a few 600 mile days scheduled but the prize at the end is worth all the efforts. The Back to the 50's Weekend is one of the premier events in the nation as over 12,000 pre 1964 special interest vehicles flood the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. It really has become the largest event of its kind in the world.

There were almost 40 cars registered for the Tour and almost everyone was in attendance at the driver's meeting on Saturday at noon in Pomona. Some folks elected to head to our Sunday destination of Las Vegas in the morning. Other with roadsters wanted to stay to get their commemorative steins at 3pm on Sunday. With Las Vegas only a four hour drive from Pomona everyone made it to Las Vegas by Sunday evening. With two long days ahead on Monday and Tuesday most folks did the wise thing and relaxed after they arrived.

Monday morning the driver's meeting was at 7am. We rolled out and spent the next 9 hours enjoying beautiful weather and the incredible landscape of Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Colorado. By sunset almost everyone had made their way to Grand Junction, Colorado. It is going to be another long day on Tuesday as we head to Kearney, Nebraska. From there the real fun starts with a tour of Speedway Motors and The Smith Collection of American Speed and a party at Larry Olsons and Bowman's Real Hot Rods in South Dakaota. On Thursday we visit Dakota Digital in the morning and then it is on the St Paul and the MSRA Back to the 50's Weekend. Check back here regularly for all of our updates from the road.
