After our wonderful Sunday evening in Clear Lake, Iowa we began our trip south on I-35 on Monday morning. Our route took us past Des Moines and on to the Kansas City suburb of Overland Park and the headquarters of Aeromotive Inc. Aeromotive has been the Official Supplier of the Fuel Delivery System on our Road Tour vehicles for seven years. Their fuel pumps and fuel filters have been an integral part of all of the builds. If you can't get the fuel to the engine in an efficient and effective manner you literally are going nowhere. Aeromotive definitely has us handled in this department.
After the five hour drive from Clear Lake we checked into the hotel and made the short drive to Aeromotive's headquarters. There were already local rodders waiting when we arrived. We were greeted by President and founder Steve Matusek, Vice President and General Manager Vic Wood and Director of Marketing Communications Jesse Powell. With great live country and western music to serenade us, we were treated to some delicious BBQ and all the fixins. Our twenty five Road Tour cars were joined by about 100 local rodders. It was an evening of fun with fellow enthusiasts.
At the end of the evening names were drawn for door prizes, cool Aeromotive T shirts and two cars were chosen to receive a new Aeromotive Stealth Fuel System. Many thanks to all of the folks at Aeromotive for their continued support of the AMSOIL/Street Rodder Road Tour Program and for welcoming us to Kansas for an evening of great food and great fun. Check back regularly this week. The Aeromotive Tour is just getting started as we make our way to the NSRA Rocky Mountain Nationals plus in Pueblo, Colorado. Next up on our schedule is the hot rod town of Wichita.
