Gm Performance Parts
One of the leaders in the crate engine world is GM Performance Parts with 30-plus motors from which to select. And while we can't show all of them here, we can give you just a quick view of several that should get your heart pumping.
Nothing replaces cubic inches, and torque is the name of the game in a street rod. What better way to get that seat-of-the pants acceleration feeling than with a ZZ572 and its 620 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque? You will have to look long and hard to find a pump gas motor with this kind of power and performance.
There are several custom-designed components that make the ZZ572/620 the king of the street. It has a strong, four-bolt block that was created with a 4.560-inch bore just for the 572 cubes of displacement. The 572 block is fortified with a forged crank, forged rods, and forged pistons. It is topped off with a single-plane intake manifold that has been port-matched to the rectangular-port aluminum heads. A custom hydraulic roller camshaft uses .632-inch of valve lift.
The Deluxe ZZ572/620 comes complete from oil pan (with windage tray) to carburetor, including an 850-cfm Holley four-barrel, HEI distributor, red spark plug wires, aluminum short-style water pump, and automatic transmission flexplate. It's the ideal combination of big-block parts-designed, validated to GMPP standards, and tested.
If you want the latest technology, then the LS6 or the LS7 are your dream machine powerplants. Both are Corvette Z06 powerplants and the name Corvette has always been synonymous with performance. GMPP calls this amazing 350ci small-block the LS6.
The 5.7L LS6 (while the LS7 is 7.0L or 427 inches) builds on the inherent strengths of the LS1 engine, but benefits from a higher-lift camshaft and higher-compression pistons to raise horsepower from 350 to 405, and torque from 340 lb-ft to 400 lb-ft. The LS7 is 505 hp at 6,300 rpm and 470 lb-ft of torque.
GM Performance Parts delivers the LS6 as an all-inclusive assembly, complete with CTS-V aluminum oil pan, larger-volume composite intake manifold with single-bore throttle body, and high-performance log-style exhaust manifolds. The LS7 uses an aluminum dry-sump block.
GM Performance Parts does not utilize any used or remanufactured parts in this crate engine. GM Performance Parts' crate engines include a 24-month/50,000-mile limited warranty.

H&H Flatheads
You knew it was only a matter of time before we showed you where the performance race began. The Ford Flathead that debuted in 1932 and was a production engine until '53 here in the states gave true performance to rodders of the day.
And we have come full circle as rodders everywhere still crave the unique-sounding Flathead.
It may not set the world on fire with horsepower, but there is no mistaking its unique sound or appearance. It always says hot rod!
H&H Flatheads has several for us to view this month, with its fully polished Navarro 3x2 motor, which features a SCAT crank, new rods, Ross pistons, Isky springs, and Manley valves. There are numerous cam options for the hot rodder with an urge to be different.
All of the company's blocks have 16 hard seats, three-angle cut, resurfaces all three sides, bored, honed, and pressure sealed.
Next up is the Flathead with the ultimate in looks and performance-the H&H Flathead equipped with the company's remake of the S.Co.T blower (note that this motor is fully polished for the wow factory).
It comes with Navarro heads, new SCAT crank, SCAT H-beam rods, Ross pistons, Manley Pro Flo valves, Isky springs, hollow-body adjustable lifters, and steel main caps. They are fully ported, polished, and relieved.

Indy Cylinder Head
Indy Cylinder Head has a 426-inch (6.1L) and 565hp New Legend Hemi for those wanting all the technology, power, and wow factory you can stuff under a hood. Shown is just one of a number of different New Legend Hemi engine combinations available.
The motor comes with billet main caps, ARP main and head studs, Compstar 4340 crank, Compstar H-beam rods, Mahle coated pistons, 6.1L heads, Manley springs and retainers, full CNC porting (370 cfm), and 6.1L intake port matched. ATI balancer, Stroker windage tray, COMP Cams hydraulic roller cam, and FAST fuel and ignition comes dyno-tested and tuned.

Kar Kraft Engineering
If you want your Blue Oval with loads of power, drivability, and the latest in technology, then you want one of the modular motors from Kar Kraft.
Kar Kraft Engineering in Livonia, Michigan, offers its new high-tech Ford 4.6 dual overhead cam modular engine with a vintage twist. The first series of modular engines offered with multiple carburetion setups, this engine, based on the 4.6 DOHC Cobra and Marauder, is a complete turnkey engine package with vintage Tri-power, as used on an original Ford 289 or 302 CID engine. The simplicity of Kar Kraft's engine packages comes from the company's engineered and patented cast-aluminum adapter manifold that fits the 4.6 DOHC Ford engines and accepts any vintage 289 or 302 intake manifold, including multiple carburetors! Included with Kar Kraft's turnkey engines is a new 12V standalone ignition system that fires the coilover plugs from a simple crank trigger system with built-in adjustable timing and spark curve. Simply add fuel and 12-volts to Kar Kraft's 4.6 Tri-power engine and turn the key for 375 instant horsepower.
Next up is the high-tech 4.6 DOHC vintage AC Cobra Webers, as used on an original Ford 289 HiPo Cobra, which gives you a 4.6 Weber carburetor engine with 425 hp. (A side-draft Weber engine will be available soon, deemed the Kross Boss engine.)
Lastly, there is the 5.4 DOHC Lincoln Navigator, a complete turnkey engine package with a newly designed dual 600-cfm Holley carburetor upper intake manifold. Kar Kraft designed a new upper manifold to have the same carb spacing of the original 427 side-oiler engines; coincidentally, Kar Kraft utilizes the 427 progressive linkage on its new intake. The fuel-injector holes in the lower manifold get tapped and plugged, and did we mention they just happen to be the same thread as a Nitrous nozzle? Simply add fuel and 12-volts to Kar Kraft's 5.4 Dual Quad engine and turn the key for 385-plus instant horsepower!

Mas Performance
MAS Performance has several ways for you to enjoy that great seat-of-the-pants feeling when romping on your throttle. Should you find yourself in a must-have situation for a 350-inch blower motor, then the polished 6-71 Weiand blower, dual Holley carbs, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, and COMP Cams hydraulic blower cam (specs are 240/253 @ .050, lift is 507/525) might just be the ticket to fill the hole in your engine compartment. Each motor is individually dyno-tuned and ready to install and produce 550 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque.
Now, should you want more cubes, how about a 383-inch dual-quad with 440 hp that pumps out 450 lb-ft of torque? Mike Petralia's Hardcore
HorsepowerThe Blown Street Ultra is a 427-cid small-block Chevy that produces 750 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque. As with all blown motors, they have the looks to stop traffic and can clearly give any hot rod the appearance (and performance) the owner wants.
The Blown Street Ultra is built with a forged Eagle rotating assembly, double-keyed crank, and oversized ATI dampener to ensure durability. To make sure this blower motor can handle the strain, you will find coated JE pistons and Hellfire rings inside a Bow Tie four-bolt block. Air Flow Research CNC heads and a Crane hydraulic roller valvetrain process the air and fuel fed by a pair of blower-calibrated Holley HP carbs into the Weiand 250 blower. A billet MSD distributor and Moroso oiling system keep it fired and lubed.

Pace Performance
The Pace Exclusive ZZ4 engine package is based on the base 355hp ZZ4 small-block. These Pace ZZ4 engine packages come fully assembled and include several items you won't find on most manufacturers' turnkey engines, such as: new high-torque starter, performance fuel pump, fuel line (carb to pump), HEI distributor, spark plugs, plug wires with looms, A/T flywheel, oil filter, oil dipstick, water pump, and thermostat.
