I haven't gone near my conventional...
I haven't gone near my conventional bandsaw since I got my hands on this NG120. This new Femi is a pleasure to operate and makes such straight and accurate cuts I can hardly believe it. You can literally slice perfect slugs of bar stock like you were slicing a pepperoni-no lie! Plus, its small bench-top size really helps in a space-restricted area (like my ever-shrinking two-car garage).
Being the ultimate wannabe fabricator, I'm always on the lookout for cool tools, and I've found quite a few over the years. However, the latest addition to my ever-shrinking home workspace is perhaps one of the most significant I've found in a long time. I say significant because it has become one of the most frequently used tools I own in just the short time I've had it-right up there with my Miller MIG welder.
The tool of which I speak is the Femi NG120 bandsaw, pictured here. I first ran across the NG120 last January at the Grand National Roadster Show, where HE&M Inc. had a booth. Of course, I can't help but stop at any display of metalworking tools, whether I know how to use 'em or not, so I stuck my nose in HE&M's booth and was greeted by a couple of really knowledgeable and friendly reps who gave me a demo of the saw and its capabilities. Within minutes, I realized the NG120 was easily far superior to my fullsize bandsaw. I say that because it seems like I could never get a truly straight, accurate cut with my old saw; the blade deflection, on solid stock especially, always caused uneven cuts that I had to try to rectify by grinding afterward. The NG120, on the other hand, is so accurate that I can honestly make perfectly straight cuts every time, and Lord knows I need all the help I can get when it comes to fabricating.
Dollar for dollar, the HE&M/Femi bandsaw is, in my opinion, the best a fabricator can get. It has saved me so much time and aggravation over the last few months that I just had to share my good fortune. Take a look at the following images and features of the NG120, and see if it'll be as much of a benefit for you as it has been for me. Also, check out HE&M's Web site for even more information and a distributor near you.

Femi tabletop saws are ideal...

Femi tabletop saws are ideal for both professional hot rod shops and the home fabricator. They're impressive in their cutting and speed capabilities and can often save more than 60 percent of your cutting time compared to traditional bandsaws. Many models, like the NG120 I chose, do not require lubrication. HE&M/Femi produces high-quality saws that meet or exceed the highest standards for quality, and they're inspected and tested throughout the manufacturing process.

The saw's 1,200-watt, 1.6hp motor is not only powerful as heck, but it's also equipped with an electronic digital speed regulator that holds constant speed anywhere from 115 to 263.5 ft/min for clean cuts without lubrication.

One of the keys to the Femi...

One of the keys to the Femi saw's accuracy is the easy-to-use dual-sliding guide arms that keep the heavy-duty 56-3/4x1/2x0.025-inch blade running straight and true.

One of the first chores I...

One of the first chores I started once I brought home my saw was to fabricate the exhaust system for my wife's Total Performance King T '27 Ford roadster project. The cuts were amazing compared to what I was used to with my conventional fullsize bandsaw. The ability to bring those blade guides right up close to the work ensured perfectly straight cuts every time.

A comfortable handgrip and...

A comfortable handgrip and rotating and clutched tensioning device are two more advantages the NG120 has over its competition. The NG120 also includes a unique "NG System" counter-rotating blade direction.

The NG120 isn't just a straight-cut...

The NG120 isn't just a straight-cut chop-saw type of tool, either. It'll cut left angles up to 60 degrees, and it has quick-locking points at both 45 and 60 degrees for perfect mitre-type joints in any solid or hollow-core material. Oh yeah, it also has a great capacity; the NG120 can handle round stock up to 4 inches in diameter, up to a 90-degree angle, and square stock up to 4.7 inches.
