Wire Wheels Sing Cross Pattern
Wire Wheels 101 - Hot Wires: Part I
The wheels that came on Fords, whether made by Kelsey, Budd, or Ford itself, have straight spokes welded directly to the hub and rim. They're laced in what's called a single-cross pattern, meaning each spoke crosses only one other spoke. The gap between the rim and hub measures 2 7/8 inches on an 18-inch '32 wheel, 2 1/8 inches on a 17-inch '33-34 wheel, and 1 5/8 inches on a '35 16-inch wheel. View Related Article
