Cheap thrills: Over a dozen manufacturers offered these $10-15 two-into-one manifolds. Loosely patterned after Vic Edelbrock's famous "Slingshot," they were sold by Al Jerauld's Speed Shop in National City, CA, Ed Almquist, Owen Betry, Speed Gems, Ansen, and Dixie-Western, to name a few. This Y-type bolts onto a stock Ford intake. They're not as efficient as a "regular" 2x2, but they were inexpensive and looked good. Navarro, Vic Edelbrock Sr., Ed Iskenderian, Charles "Kong" Jackson, Phil Weiand, the Spaulding brothers, Earl Evans, and others created a speed equipment business where none had existed before.
