You should be able to tell if your thermostat is working by simply starting you motor when it is cold with the radiator cap off. When the motor reaches the temperature of the thermostat you should see a marked increase in flow through the radiator. Once you are certain it is working turn off the motor and reinstall the radiator cap. View Related Article
