Ridetech Airbar Install Tackwelding

At this point, the four-bar bracket is tacked to the rearend housing before being removed. Instead of welding the brackets on ourselves and possibly warping the brand-new housing, we opted to let Currie weld the brackets up in their jig to ensure that the housing stays true. First, the axle is centered to the chassis before the pinion angle can be set by raising the rear into the chassis with about 4-1/2 inches of clearance between it and the frame kickup. This is a simulated ride-height setting, which allowed us to set the pinion angle at 6 degrees nose up, parallel to the engine/trans, which is 6 degrees tail down. With the four-bar links even at 18-1/2 inches center to center, the rearend is simply rotated on the brackets until the correct pinion angle is achieved. The simplest way to do this is to place an angle finder or dial level on the face of the rearend or transmission yoke. Road testing will tell you if you have it right; a vibration during acceleration and the yoke is too high while a vibration du View Related Article
