Each year the National Street Rod Association provides space to those companies debuting new products to the aftermarket, and then groups them into three different pricing categories: Up to $200, $200 to $1,000, and Above $1,000. The items are judged and only one winner is crowned in each category and, as a result, the Best New Product award from the NSRA has become a highly coveted title to obtain. The products submitted are also judged for the Best New Safety award, and only one winner is declared in that division, too. More than 150 new products were entered this year and, besides the winners, STREET RODDER is showcasing some of the interesting items that rodders will want on their ride.
Best New Safety Award
Electric Push-Button Emergency Brake
Originally designed to help disabled veterans apply the emergency brake in their vehicles, the E-Stopp unit makes setting your e-brake as easy as pushing a button. The system, which works with a flexible, mount-anywhere cable, will work with most existing systems or can be used in custom applications, too.
Up To $200 Category Winner
LED Rearview Mirrors
A 4-inch round, stainless steel peep mirror head houses seven superbright red LED bulbs that activate only when the turn signal is used. The base allows the mirror to be mounted anywhere on the car, with the wiring running inside the chrome arm.
United Pacific Industries

VHX Series Direct-Fit '40 Ford Instrumentation

Other VHX gauges are available for other applications, too.
Above $1,000 Category Winner
Tru Trac System
This is a one-man trolley load/unload and securing system for enclosed trailers. Made from extruded aluminum, the system allows a single operator to secure and load/unload their vehicle in an enclosed trailer without having to be in the vehicle or the trailer (no more climbing out the window!).
Coyote 5.0 Front Runner
In an ultra-compact serpentine belt system for the Ford 5.0 Coyote engines, Vintage Air has created a way to not only neatly cradle a power steering unit and an air compressor unit, but also use machined aluminum pulleys while retaining Ford's alternator and water pump location.

Continental Two-Barrel Air Cleaner
In homage to the Hi-Speed Power Equipment air cleaners of the '50s (the ones used on the custom Andy Kassa Deuce Coupe), O'Brien has reproduced the look but with a base that works with "modern" 4-bbl carbs with a 5-1/8-inch neck, as well as with a washable filter element. An adaptor ring allows them to work on older carbs with smaller necks.
Ford Flathead V-8 Starter
Combining vintage looks with contemporary performance, the Vintage-Torque starter fits '32-51 Ford V-8 applications and does so with 50 percent less weight than an OE starter. Plus there is 75 percent more torque than a stock starter, and they also offer a barrel-type cushion drive for high-compression engines.
F-1 Shock Mounts
These highboy front shock mounts are designed to mimic the original '48-51 F-1 pickup shock mounts, which are perfect for any fenderless '28-34 Ford highboy (or custom application) and are made from forged steel. They come in two lengths: 5.5 and 6.5 inch.
