With the endplay set, Wallic mounted the rotor to the driveshaft, tightened it to 45 lb-ft of torque, and measured the gap between the rotor and gear case. Gaskets between the gear case and bearing flange determine this gap. Wallic copied the 0.005-inch gap from the reference blower. McCulloch offered 0.002-inch and 0.003-inch gaskets for that joint to set that gap between the rotor and housing.
